Dr. Denis Waitley, who was one of my mentors, has always said that in life you never get what you want… – You only get what you focus on and expect! Now if you think about it, that’s a very big statement but oh so true…

You see your focus is what you direct your attention to at any moment in time. And the way the mind works is like the lens of a camera, whatever you focus on is what you see to the exclusion of everything else. This means that when you direct your attention to something you do not see other things and like a camera lens if you zoom in on an object it becomes clearer, and brighter and the detail of it become more obvious. In fact the more you zoom in on it the less of everything else around you is visible to you. Continue reading »

The other day I posted a message on my facebook page about how much I enjoy reading.  I thought I would discuss the topic since I absolutely love to read, and because reading positive, thought provoking books has played a HUGE role in my success.  I also want to thank many of you who commented on my post and shared with me some of your favorite books, especially the ones that have impacted your lives significantly.

One of the first books I’ve read that truly resonated with me was “The Magic of Thinking Big” by David Schwartz. I’ve since read thousands of books but “The Magic of Thinking Big” was the first book that ‘enlightened’ me so to speak. It stimulated an “aha” moment from within.
