Welcome to Your Unlimited Life! I’m Carlos Marin, author of The Ultimate Success Formula, founder of The Unlimited Success Academy. You probably already know that I’m a big believer that everyone has the power within themselves to be tremendously successful and wealthy (to be, to do, and to have anything that you want.) You must develop the mindset and use the strategies of the person who already is it, has it, and does it. The problem is, most of us have not been taught how to access that power.

On last week’s show we began talking about the seven key mental states. (The characteristics, or habit patterns, of millionaire entrepreneurs.) I’ve been working with entrepreneurs for over 30 years, and I have found that the number one thing that they all want, (I mean, that pinnacle of success for them) is to become a millionaire. Last week, I taught you that the first key was clarity of vision. You must know with absolute clarity what end results you want in your life. What kind of life do you want? What kind of lifestyle do you want to live for yourself, for your family, for your loved ones? What does your ideal life look like? That’s the first key, clarity of vision.

Once you have clarity of vision, you have a direction. You have somewhere to go! Without that direction or somewhere to go, you’re lost. Today, we’re going to talk about the second characteristic (or mental state.) This one is so often overlooked by people as a key to success, because we’re told that in order to become successful, (to become wealthy, to become a millionaire) we must work hard. It’s been engraved into our minds that we have to struggle or that we have to sacrifice in order to succeed. Some people say you must sell your soul to the devil, but the truth is, (this is habit number two) you must completely love what you do. I say completely, because this is not a “sometimes” thing. This is not a thing you turn on and off, “Oh, sometimes I love what I do, sometimes I don’t love what I do.” No, this means that you’re completely in love with what you do. It’s not hot and cold, it’s an all the time sort of thing. (Fiery hot, burning desire, in love with it, passionate about it.) You are completely and totally passionately in love with what you do.

See, you’re in love with your vision, you’re in love with that ideal life that you are working to attain! You love what you do so much that it isn’t even work. That’s why that statement “you must work really hard, struggle and sacrifice everything, in order to become successful” is a bold face lie. When you’re in love with something, it isn’t work. I’m not saying that you’re not consistent and persistent in your efforts, of course you are. You have to do it a lot, because you must in order to become really good at it. If you hate doing something, it’s hard to become really good at it, right? When you’re totally, completely in love with it, then you love doing it! The practice that it requires in order to become really good at something is not hard considering it’s hardly hard work to you. It’s consistent, persistent effort, because you completely love and adore what you do. This is your passion, this is what you do, it defines you, it’s who you are and it’s your mission in life.

Here’s an interesting thing. Oftentimes when people start out in business, (when they start out as entrepreneurs) and they’re looking to make their mark on the world, and they’re looking to achieve their dreams and goals, they don’t even realize this principle of completely loving what you do. They don’t realize it consciously at least. They’re so ingrained after the dream. That’s why I put clarity of vision first. They’re going after that dream, they’re going after that burning desire so strongly that sometimes they don’t realize what they’re missing. Like in sports for example, where players have to work hard, where they have to practice non-stop. Again, I want to take you out of that working hard mentality and maybe change that to that powerful consistent effort where you’re striving to improve and exceed yourself all the time. Let’s not call that hard work. I played football, baseball, basketball, and when I was practicing, it was fun. Before we did it in high school, we did it in the park, we did it with our friends, we did it for fun, we watched the people on TV, and we emulated them. That effort is sometimes required to be successful. Let’s not call it hard work or something we hate to do. Practice is good.

It’s interesting how a lot of times we don’t even realize consciously that we love to do what we do early on in our careers. Here you’re achieving and you’re succeeding, but you’re not doing it with the joy and the love that you should. (I’ve mentioned this before, but Steve Jobs  on a Ted Talk was asked, “What is the key to success?” Jobs jumped up and said emphatically “The key to success, the key to wealth, is you’ve got to love what you do, because otherwise, you will not sustain the intensity of effort required to achieve success.” That’s what I’m talking about. That’s what I’m talking to you about here.)

The definition for love in Webster’s Dictionary, is a strong affection for someone or something. Sounds kind of weak, don’t you think? Passionate affection for another or for something sounds a little stronger. Beyond that, love is a spiritual force. It’s the most powerful force in the universe! Love is this overriding emotion. Love attracts the object of its attention. See, love is this powerful force and emotion that just hones in and focuses on the object of its attention. It’s ecstatically and totally overridden with positive emotion about this object of its attention. That sounds pretty incredible, doesn’t it?

That’s what we want to observe. Love is a force that unites. Love brings together. Love brings together the things that love each other. That’s why when a man and woman love each other, they unite. They come together. That’s why they want to make love. That’s why they want to bind their bodies together and share it with each other. They want to become one. Love unites! Love binds and ties together, but love also magnifies. It makes whatever the object of your love is, bigger. It expands in size, intensity, in every one of the senses associated with that thing that you love, it expands it all, it multiplies it, it increases. Love increases energy. Love radiates.

I’m really energetic today, because I’m talking about this and it’s such a powerful force, and what I personally love to do. It increases the energy, the drive, the motivation and the confidence. It motivates you to improve, grow, expand, to move forward and go, go, go. It promotes persistency and consistency. It creates! Love creates joy. Love creates happiness. Love creates success. Love is the most powerful emotion. Love even creates wealth, ladies and gentlemen, and this is why you have to completely love what you do.

My story began with me choosing not to go to college. I didn’t know what I wanted to be. I was supposed to be an attorney when I was young, but then, I found out that attorneys had to defend people that were actually guilty. Being an idealistic young kid, I decided that wasn’t for me and I didn’t want to do that. (Nothing against attorneys of course. I have some very good friends who are attorneys.) I didn’t know what I wanted. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to be in high school. I told my parents to not waste their money and to allow me go into business, like my grandfather had, and let me try to figure out what I wanted to do, and then I’ll go back to college. I got involved in sales, in insurance, and I started doing well. I was still frustrated because I wanted to be a millionaire. I didn’t have the answers and I couldn’t get to where I wanted to go.

Later on, I found the network business marketing business and I found some mentors. I attracted them, because I intensely wanted success and wealth so bad. In network marketing, public speaking is the key for success. You must be doing presentations, you must be speaking at meetings, both in homes and in hotels. I had a fear of public speaking at the time. I had a fear speaking in public, because they laughed at me doing oral book report in the second grade, and since then I had a fear of it. Obviously, I had to overcome that, and as I overcame that fear, I realized how much I loved doing it. I love teaching. I love training. I love speaking. I was the star running back in my high school football team and I also dreamed of being the lead singer in a band. So, what is all of that? It’s performing. It’s blessing people. It’s helping people feel good by what you give. What I’ve found in public speaking was the way to be a performer, the way to bless other people’s lives with what I do, and I love that so much.

Today, I love what I do. I hope you can tell. (I think you can tell.) I love teaching. I love training. I love public speaking. I love transforming people’s lives. It’s my purpose! It’s my passion as well as my mission. When you do what you love to do, you will find your purpose. In what you love to do, you will find your purpose. You will find your passion. You will find your mission in life. Your purpose, your mission, is where you get enjoyment from. This is where you begin to catch yourself feeling good about your life on a regular basis.

Your purpose in life is something that you enjoy so much that you lose track of time, but in doing it and doing it so well, (it’s your gift and talent) it blesses the rest of mankind. It’s a phenomenal thing. It’s a mindset, it’s a belief system, it’s an attitude, a perspective. It’s the way your mind is set, which translates into your character. When you live through this mindset, you become very attractive. You attract the right people, circumstances to you. You make spontaneous right decisions, make spontaneous right actions. You become a success and wealth magnet, and everything you do prospers. I assure you, every millionaire entrepreneur, either knowingly or unconsciously practices this. It’s become second nature to them, but they’ve used these principles to achieve their success.
